Saginaw Priest wins free trip to Rome from Fireside Catholic Publishing
Contest celebrates “Year of the Priest”

A 28-year Priest from Saginaw County, Mich. will be making a trip to Rome as part of Fireside Catholic Publishing’s celebration of the “Year of the Priest.”  Rev. Thomas J. McNamara, from the Diocese of Saginaw, was the winner of a drawing for two free round-trip airline tickets and seven nights’ stay in the Rome metropolitan area.

“I’m very excited to see St. Peter’s Basilica once again,” said Rev. McNamara, who serves as Vicar General for the Diocese of Saginaw and Rector at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Saginaw. “I celebrated mass there 10 years ago. To be in the home base of the worldwide Church, the same area where St. Peter once roamed, is humbling. I won’t forget the Year of the Priest.”

The grand prize is a cash payment to cover the cost of two (2) round trip airline tickets to Rome, two (2) hotel rooms in the Rome Metropolitan Area with a seven (7) nights’ accommodation and an allowance per person per day for meals. The prize will be awarded as a check payable to the winner, so he may schedule the trip to fit his availability.
